SA Phil Completes Inaugural Season
After a long hiatus, I am pleased to share that I have completed my first season as an extra/sub percussionist with a professional orchestra! Playing with a professional orchestra has been a career goal of mine for many years, and I am thrilled to have had so many amazing opportunities throughout the season to perform with my local orchestra.
As many of you that are in tune with the orchestra world have heard, the San Antonio Symphony had dissolved in 2022, due to several unfortunate events that I will not go into detail in this post.
After much support and effort from the members of the orchestra, the American Federation of Musicians, the city, donors, and members of the community, the orchestra had successfully reemerged as the San Antonio Philharmonic and just recently completed its inaugural season.
It brings me great joy to be able to be a member and supporter of this fine orchestra and help pave a more inclusive path for the community to enjoy the fine arts within and around San Antonio. The Philharmonic has just released its plans for the 2023-2024 season. You can read more about the upcoming season through the link below.
